We have enjoyed a fantastic first week of MOATfest, a celebration of women in the arts with music, writing, theatre and comedy. Students have enjoyed thought-provoking and interactive workshops from Sharp Teeth Musical Theatre, Billie Collins, Split Ink, Nothing to Perform, Tabi Wells and Little Soldier Productions. There have been stand-out performances from external theatre companies, with ENG-ER-LAND and General Secretary both being extremely well received. And finally, well done to year 7 for a heart-warming production of The Suitcase Kid.
Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
