Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students admiring the aurora borealis

On Friday 10 May, year 9 went on our Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition. The instructors taught us how to take our bearings and read maps, although we still managed to walk around in a circle. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed cooking together and sharing tents with each other (as well as with several spiders). Luckily, it didn’t rain, our feet weren’t too sore and our backpacks didn’t feel too heavy. We were also extremely lucky to witness the stunning aurora borealis, and cannot wait for our final expedition next month!
