We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our year 12 students undertaking the City SPARC (Science Projects and Research Collaboration) programme, as they begin to receive Gold CREST Awards for their exceptional work. SPARC empowers students to explore real-world scientific challenges with depth and independence - whether delving into climate engineering, machine learning, gene editing, or more specialised fields of inquiry. Since November, students from our school, CLS, and partner schools have dedicated themselves to rigorous, original research. We are immensely proud that their hard work is being recognised with such a prestigious accolade. Among the many thought-provoking projects were investigations into 'What happens to the mind during a coma?' and 'To what extent do medical professionals, compared to the LGBT+ community, understand HIV treatment and infection prevention?'
