Art fit for a King

art fit for a king

To commemorate the upcoming coronation of King Charles III, our students are working with artist Fiona Grady to produce artwork for our main hall.

The artwork design concept is that of celebration and the piece will contain symbols inspired by bunting and confetti. The final piece will be multi-coloured vinyl shapes on the windows of the main hall, inspired by the buildings in the Barbican. Students in years 7 to 10 will be working on this in art lessons, but a small group on students had the opportunity to attend a workshop with Fiona recently. In this workshop, they worked with Fiona to experiment with various shapes and colours. We very much look forward to seeing the final piece!
