Our audiences were utterly captivated by a cast of year 8 and 9 performing in a moving, compassionate, and electrifying stage production of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Ms Dales has worked wonders with her young cast: Frankenstein here is a woman, as is the monster. This beautifully updated the text, while keeping it firmly charged with an 1818 sensibility. It is a difficult and emotional piece, and the movement sections imaginatively take us to a world firmly steeped in the Gothic horror tradition. It is simultaneously an adorable and terrifying production - we could use the same words to describe the monster - should we ever meet her. Congratulations to all involved!
