You may have spotted City alumna Dr Helena Bates on the news in the past few weeks explaining the significance of the meteorite that landed in Winchcombe earlier this year.

Dr Know: alumnae medic mentors
For the past few months, we have been running a Medic Mentor programme between year 11 and 12 students and CLSG alumnae who are currently studying medicine at university. Our students have been in contact over email, receiving lots of helpful advice and tips on applications, university life and more.

Congratulations to alumna Mel Nebhrajani (a 1986 leaver) who has been appointed a Companion of the Bath (CB) in the Queen’s 2021 New Year’s Honours List in recognition of her work with the Government Legal profession.

Alumnae news: Flo Chadwick shortlisted for Hive Young Writers’ Award
A poem, Viral, written by a recent leaver, has been shortlisted for the Hive Young Writers Award. Flo Chadwick studied A level English at CLSG leaving in 2019 to study English and history of art at York where she is very keen on creative writing.
Good luck to all our year 11 and year 13 students as they begin their GCSE and A level exams. We are incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication and we wish you all the best over the coming weeks.

Last weekend, 75 year 10 students completed the silver practice expedition for their @DofE. They walked along part of the South Downs improving their navigational skills and the instructors were impressed by the keen focus, determination and sense of fun shown by all!
