Our students took part in a poetry workshop with award-winning poet Roger Robinson. Together, they explored his poem ‘A Portable Paradise’ from our GCSE poetry anthologies, delving into its themes of identity, belonging, and finding beauty in everyday life, encouraging us to think deeply about what we consider to be our own personal paradise. Throughout our lively discussions, we took part in creative exercises, such as embodying ‘big characters’ from our own lives, translating memory and emotion into verse.
