City’s Christian Union visited CLS for a thought-provoking talk by Sir Jeremy Cooke, retired High Court judge, on the theme of rough justice. Drawing on his remarkable legal career, Sir Jeremy explored how human justice, however well-intentioned, can sometimes falter, and how divine justice offers a different kind of perfection. His discussions of memorable cases left students with much to consider about fairness, in both the courtroom and beyond.
