Individual congratulations are also in order. Year 10 Anaira has been invited to Team England trials, while Meghan, also in year 10, has been invited as a reserve. This is an impressive feat as only about 30 debaters nationally make it to these trials, the majority from year 11 and above. The invitation follows Anaira and Meghan’s competitive success this term, after they placed first and second respectively in the St Paul's competition and Anaira, alongside year 12 Niamh, placed second in the Warwick Schools Competition.
Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
