A marathon for a cause

Philomene (year 13) taking part in a marathon

Inspired by City's first-ever Giving Week, I ran 10K in Leeds, raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). It felt slightly ambitious to attempt this less than two days after the end of my A levels, but if City has taught me anything it is to shoot for the stars! Having already completed 10K after GCSEs and a half marathon back in October, both to raise money for MNDA, I have since raised almost £4,000. This recent run also went extremely well, as I beat my previous time and even had the opportunity to speak on the radio. To support my fundraising for this cause, you can donate via this link. Since the death of Rob Burrow, who tirelessly campaigned to raise money for MNDA, motor neurone disease is all over the news, so now is the time to make an impact!
