In a storm of feminist rage, fury and pizza, year 13 created a piece of politically charged theatre, in response to historical and modern accusations of witchcraft. Through a video game set-up, the audience followed a range of women - from the unnamed 'witches' of the Little Ice Age to Hillary Clinton and beyond - as the characters face persecution specific to their time. Inspired by Complicite and Gaulier’s clowning techniques, they drew parallels between the seemingly absurd accusations made in the past, and the persistence of similar accusations in contemporary society. Where have the witches gone? Who are the witches now?
