We welcomed Professor Tom Wynn from the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at Durham University. We were fascinated by the wide-ranging topics of Professor Wynn's current research into theatre, spectatorship, and crime in early modern French literature and culture. We enjoyed hearing about the diverse opportunities offered by language degrees, as well as the potential enrichment gained by taking a year abroad. It was really exciting and rewarding to see how studying modern languages gives students impressive hard and soft skills that are valued by future employers.
