Book your place for a special lecture by Dr Daniel Starza Smith, from King’s College, London, on the life, writing, and friendships of the great metaphysical poet John Donne. Dr Smith is a specialist in early modern literature and this talk promises to be an engaging exploration of Donne’s work as a living writer: a satirist, lover, courtier, priest, and one of the most inventive poets in the English language.

If you are curious about how literature connects to real lives and real history, this event offers a rare chance to hear directly from a leading academic working with Donne’s manuscripts and letters.

The talk will take place in the Weston Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 6 May, 4.30 – 5.30pm.
