Understand your mind
Understand your mind is a student led club which hosts focus discussion groups on interesting and relevant topics in neuroscience. The club has held discussions on topics such as the neuroscience of productivity, thoughts, emotions and stress. The student who runs the club prepares a PowerPoint on the topic prior to the meeting for each week and the members of the club then go over it together. Each student has a chance to express their ideas and to understand how our brains work to apply that information to everyday life and wellbeing. The founding student highlights the following skills as being important to the club: communication, critical and analytical thinking, confidence in one’s beliefs and ability to express them to others.
‘Here, what counts are ideas. And in the heat of adolescence, students can develop what they think and believe is important, often giving them confidence that will last a lifetime.’ Read @clsghead ‘s article in today’s @telegraph via the link in our bio.
