Robotics club
The popular Robotics club focuses on identifying female role models in Science and engineering and providing a co-curricular activity which is STEM based and which complements other after school clubs, so increasing the range of opportunities available for students. Teams from previous years continue to participate in the club as they move up the school, and the club works to produce teams which qualify for the World Championships. This system is clearly working- as teams have previously won a range of awards at both Regional and National Championships! The club aims to encourage students to consider careers in STEM, to experience the interdisciplinary nature of science, design and computing, to improve students’ teamwork, leadership, design, research, communication and problem solving skills in a practical setting.
