MACE Building Future Projects
Students in year 9 have the opportunity to take part in the Mace Building Futures project, a course delivered by the global construction firm Mace in after-school sessions. One year 9 student said the below about their experience of the course:
‘The Mace Building Futures project was a really interesting and fun course. The after-school sessions deepened our knowledge of the world of design and engineering. We learnt more about teamwork, along with working to a specification. It helped with a variety of things including presentation skills and how to cultivate information to be of use to judges. We all really liked having the guest speakers come in and share their experiences, as it helped put into perspective how this type of job really is and how many different paths there are in the industry. We really enjoyed the visit to a construction site and it was brilliant to be able to present our project to a panel of judges at Mace head office last week.’

‘Here, what counts are ideas. And in the heat of adolescence, students can develop what they think and believe is important, often giving them confidence that will last a lifetime.’ Read @clsghead ‘s article in today’s @telegraph via the link in our bio.
