Law society
CLSG’s law society provides students with the opportunity to engage in practical and exciting aspects of law in order to prepare them for a career in the field, or just to further their knowledge and interest in legal topics. Each year the society studies a different branch of law (this year has focused on contract law) and discusses relevant legal positions and problem scenarios in fortnightly sessions. The society hosts speakers ranging from QCs to partners from large city law firms. The students are able to develop their advocacy skills in the two mock trials which the society holds before the whole school- which acts as the jury. Students regularly compete, and do well, in the young citizens mock trial competition.
