Asian society
A student wrote of this club: ‘Here at City we love to embrace each other’s differences and cultures. At Asian Society, we explore the vast beauty of Asia, including trying different foods, listening to cultural music and watching movies. We believe it is important for us to not only embrace our differences, but also educate ourselves on what is going on in the world around us. To do this, we have weekly discussions on current topics, enriching our global awareness whilst strengthening our knowledge that can be taken back to classrooms to further discuss. Fundraising is a key part of the City and asian society’s ethos is fundraising; at our recent and successful lunch time sale for HIV awareness day, we sold Asian food from various countries, which was very exciting. Asian society has exciting ideas for the near future, including a Culture Fete as part of our annual culture week!
