The youngest daughter of wartime Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, Megan Lloyd George certainly had a political upbringing, staying by her father’s side during pivotal international engagements like the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. A passionate radical and eloquent orator, widely regarded as her father’s natural heir, she soon became a political figure in her own right. She successfully stood for the Liberals in Anglesey in 1929 to become the first female MP for Wales, a seat she would hold for 22 years.
