City of London School for Girls is a selective, independent day school in the heart of the City. Girls come to us from all over London. It is a unique learning environment, and we are delighted that you are considering joining us.

We aim to make the admissions process as seamless and transparent as possible. This section of our website will reflect the most up-to-date information and dates for entry in the coming academic year. If you have any questions, please contact our admissions team at

Occasional places

Sometimes we have places available in year groups other than at our standard intake points.

If these places become available for years 8, 9 or 10, we invite interested parents to register their child. We then conduct an admission assessment in English and maths. For some year groups, we also assess science and a modern foreign language.  These places are rare, and we are unlikely to know whether places are available until March/April before the September entry point.

We do not accept pupils mid-way through the academic year, nor in years 11 or 13.  We regret we are unable to offer scholarships and bursaries for these non-standard entry points.
