Several year 9 students and four winners of the Commonwealth Poetry Competition took part in a poetry workshop with Imtiaz Dharker. Accompanied by cake and biscuits, we transformed words that are special to us into short poems, thinking about how they changed with their context. We then shared them with the rest of the group, receiving feedback from Ms Dharker. You can read the poem I wrote during the workshop through this link. It was a very interesting session that allowed us to reflect on what language means to us and how to express that in poetry form.
