A group of students visited South Hampstead High School for a debating competition. They debated on various thought-provoking topics, such as the social impact of artworks and the importance of teachers. Congratulations to Aashritha (year 7) and Eira (year 10), who were announced as the winners.
Three teams of year 9 and 10 debaters also visited Ibstock Place School for a competition run by the England national debating team. Motions included the merits of environmental protesting, women’s sports, and whether schools should teach us to question parental authority. We won multiple debates throughout the day. Despite not receiving quite enough points to make the finals, this was still an excellent chance to practise our skills.
