U11 netball team qualify for London Youth Games

On Tuesday 31st January, the U11 netball team played in the borough qualifiers for the London Youth Games High 5 Netball tournament.

In this tournament the girls had to rotate their positions every game, so everyone played attacking, defending and centre court positions. The squad of seven girls were all really focused and played brilliantly throughout.

The competition was played as a round robin so all teams played five games and then there were play offs for the final positions. City won all bar one of their round robin games, which put them through to the 1st and 2nd place play offs.

The team were up against Sir John Cass in the final. It was a tightly fought match with the play constantly moving from one end of the court to the other. The City girls defended well and drove hard for the ball, never giving up. The final score was a 2-1 win to City. An amazing result!

Congratulations to all the girls who took part and best of luck for the London Youth Games on Thursday 23rd March.
