We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Finance (Expenditure) Officer. You will join the support staff of this leading independent day school for girls in order to provide a high quality professional support service primarily in the areas of the school’s general procurement (CBIS iProc) & expenditure functions, including first line support between the school and City Procurement, producing budget updates for Heads of Department, and oversight of the purchasing card system.
An active role in supporting the Finance Manager and wider teaching staff with the school’s residential and overseas trip programme is also included in this position, which includes budget estimates, trip launch communications, collating parent responses, applying charges to fee accounts, foreign currency orders and some general duties around data entry concerning trip participants.
Further responsibilities also extend to oversight of the school’s box office for ticketed events, the related financial records, and banking of income. The post holder will also be responsible for the schools pretty cash (IMPREST) account.
A good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook is essential, as is a willingness to learn.
The post holder will be required to deal with both parent and staff queries and therefore good communication and interpersonal skills are vital to this role.
The successful candidate is likely to have two to three years finance assistant experience, which would include one year in either a school or Local Government environment.
